UiO is changing the authentication solution for Mattermost on the weekend of August 10th - 11th, and will then implement mandatory two-factor authentication.
In connection with this, everyone will be logged out of Mattermost and must log in again.

Two-factor authentication is activated for employees, students and associated users for several IT services through 2023.

Two-factor authentication increases security for UiO and all IT users at UiO.
- At UiO, we recommend that you use an app on your mobile phone for authentication in addition to passwords. It is also possible to install an authentication application on your computer. If these solutions do not suit you, please contact the IT helpdesk for customized options.
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) is also known as secure login and multifactor authentication (MFA).
Note
You cannot turn off two-factor authentication.
