- If you have already set up two-factor authentication with the app, the authentication process itself is simply pressing Approve or typing a value given in the request. This guide provides a more detailed walkthrough of the process.
- Are you wondering where you might encounter two-factor authentication requirements at UiO? Read the guide "Where do I meet two-factor authentication at UiO".
- If you haven't set up two-factor authentication yet, you can do so when you see the message "Need more information". See the guide for setting up two-factor authentication.
On your computer
When you log in to a service that uses two-factor authentication at UiO, the Approve sign-in request window will appear. This window will provide instructions. It will either prompt you to Approve the request in the app or show a value to enter in the app.
Approve the login on your phone
When the Approve sign-in request window appears, you will also receive a notification on your phone. Open it and follow the instructions to approve the request. If you don't see the notification, open the Authenticator app to approve the login either by clicking Approve or entering the displayed value from earlier.
First, verify the two-factor authentication request is from the correct application before you approve the request.
IMPORTANT: If you have not attempted to log in to a service with two-factor authentication, deny the request. Your password may be compromised, and you should contact IT Security at UiO CERT at cert@uio.no.
