Edit a form that is connected to TSD
We recommend that you do not make changes to a form that is connected to TSD. If it is absolutely necessary, however, it is possible to make small changes. Read more about which changes you can and cannot make to a form connected to TSD further down the page.
If the form is connected to TSD, you must do the following before you can make changes:
Close the form for new responses by switching the button at the top of the form from Open to Closed.

Open Settings and turn on Editing of the form after receiving submissions under Processing of submissions in Settings.

In the builder view, click the question-mark icon by Form builder and choose Go to the builder anyways.

- Make the desired changes to the form.
- You can read more about which changes you can make and what you should avoid further down.
- Open the form to receive new responses.
The form owner is responsible for any consequences resulting from changes to an active form.
What can I change and what should I not change?
We recommend that you do not make changes to a form that is connected to TSD.
But you can make small text edits to the form title, free-text fields, and descriptions for questions and special fields.
You can add new fields (page elements, new questions without changing existing ones, matrices, and special fields). Remember to update the codebook so that there are no empty or incorrectly placed fields.
Changes you should not make include removing questions or answer options, and major restructuring of questions by moving questions around.
Changes can reduce data quality and break the structure of result files used in TSD.
Major changes
If you need to change existing codes, remove questions, change answer options, or restructure a form, you should create a copy of the form and connect the edited copy to TSD.
To make a copy, open the form, go to Settings, and click Copy form. Give the copy a clear title so you recognize it under My forms.
