Teams phone

What is Teams phone?

  • You make and receive calls in Teams.
  • Teams is connected to the regular telephone network.
  • Others receive calls from and call your landline number.
  • The people you call or receive calls form do not need to have Teams. From the outside, it is not noticeable that UiO uses Teams for phone calls.
  • You can use Teams for phone calls from a desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile as long as you are logged in with your UiO account.

Getting started

To get Teams phone, you must be:

  1. Employed at UiO
  2. Assigned a separate landline number from UiO (+47-228 xx xxx).

Employees who need a landline function will have their phone activated in Teams. If you do not have a phone in Teams but need one, contact your nearest supervisor.

UiO moves from traditional landline phones to Teams phone

Most others in the sector have already switched to telephony via Teams, and now UiO will join them. This is the most practical solution, and the move has been decided by the university director. The move to Teams telephony will begin as early as September and will take place faculty by faculty.
