Everything about printing quota, payment, and prices

About the printing quota at UiO

At UiO, as a student, you have a free printing quota, and you can also pay for extra printouts once you have used up your quota. UiO staff members do not have to pay for printouts.

The student's free printing quota is NOK 140. The quota is valid for six months at a time and resets on July 1st and January 1st. This means that you will have a new free quota of NOK 140 regardless of what your previous quota was. If you use up your free quota, you will need to pay for additional printouts.

How much can you print with the free quota?

Free quota based on the new printing system:

With the printing system, you pay per printed page, not per sheet. Therefore, the price depends on whether you print on a single-sided or double-sided page. The price per page with the printing system is 0,40 NOK for a single-sided print or 0,80 NOK for a double-sided print. Here's how the free quota is distributed with the printing system:

  • The price is 0,40 NOK per single-sided page or 0,80 NOK per double-sided page.
  • One sheet can cost 0,40 NOK if you print on a single side.
  • One sheet can also cost 0,80 NOK if you print on a double side.
  • The free quota of NOK 140 can correspond to 350 single-sided printed pages.
  • The free quota of NOK 140 can also correspond to 175 double-sided printed pages.

Paying for printouts

If you have used up your free quota, you will need to pay for additional printouts. The link below will guide you on how to pay and refill your printing quota.

Note: If you have unused credit, you will not be refunded if you leave UiO. Therefore, make sure to refill with an amount that you will use up, and refill multiple times if needed.
