Nettskjema that delivers to the Service for Sensitive Data (TSD) will never temporarily store data in Nettskjema. Responses and form data are stored directly in TSD. Read more about secure storage and handling of sensitive data in TSD.
Checklist before connecting
The criteria for a form to be connectable to TSD are:
- The person performing the connection must have a valid user account for the TSD project that the form will be connected to.
The form must be set up with the form type TSD or Educloud questionnaire.
- If you did not choose this type when creating the form, it is possible to change the Form type to TSD or Educloud questionnaire under Settings. This can be changed as long as the form has not received any responses, or all responses have been deleted.
- The form must be complete and fully tested.
- Once the form is connected to TSD, you can no longer edit it. If absolutely necessary, the form can be opened for minor adjustments that will not degrade data quality.

- The codebook must be completely filled out (no blank fields) in accordance with the requirements for TSD forms.
- Test responses that were sent to the form before activation must be deleted. This can be done under the View results tab.
How to connect a form to TSD
You will need your TSD password and one-time code (OTP) to connect a form to TSD.?
Go to the form you want to connect to TSD on nettskjema.no. In the red banner under the form title, click Connect.
- Review the checklist before connecting, and complete any missing items.
- When the form is completely finished, check the box for Yes, I have finished building the form.
- Choose who will be able to respond to the form.
- Choose the option that fits your study. See the options for response permissions on this page.
- Note that if the form will be set up as electronic consent you should choose Signing with ID-porten level 3/4.
- Select Connect form to TSD and click Log in with TSD.
- Enter your TSD username, password and one-time code (OTP) and click Connect.
- Confirm the connection to the TSD project by clicking Connect.
When the form is connected to TSD, a green banner will appear under the form's title.
Can I make changes to a form after it is connected to TSD?
After a Nettskjema form is connected to TSD, you can no longer make changes to the codebook or by using the form builder. You also cannot change the settings for who has permission to respond, the form type, the storage of personal information, or the indication that the responses are sensitive. The reason forms cannot be changed further is that changing questions after responses have started to come in weakens data quality.
If you still need to make small changes to the form, you can do so by changing a form setting. Although not recommended, you can make minor changes such as editing question texts and wording, and possibly adding questions.
If you need to change existing codes, remove or modify questions or answer options after activation, you should replace the form with an edited copy.
It is not possible to disconnect a form from TSD once it has been connected to TSD.
How do I process the data in TSD?
When a Nettskjema delivers to TSD, you can view the responses only in TSD.
