Hi all!
We hope that project 3 is going well for you. This is just a reminder about the upcoming deadlines for the posters and final reports.
- Poster printing: The deadline for sending us your group’s final poster is Thursday 16. November at 10:00. The poster should be delivered as a PDF in A0 portrait format. We will print the poster for you and bring it to the poster presentation venue. If you do not send us your poster by this deadline, we will assume that you print and bring the poster yourself!
- Poster presentation: The poster presentations are at Tuesday 21. November 10:15-14:00. We meet in the lobby by the main entrance of the OJD building. We will evaluate your poster presentations, but you are also encouraged to visit each other’s posters within the two hours. Remember to also bring the demo...
Just a reminder that we have the project kickoff today. The idea with the kickoff is to pitch your idea for the other students and get feedback for you to refine your project proposals. Hence, it is strongly recommended to participate in the kickoff.
Try to drop by if you can.
Hi all,
We have been notified that Fox is down for maintenance until Friday. We understand that this will cause major problems for those of you who are running your P2 experiments on Fox (the Educloud servers).
To make it fair, we give everyone a one week extension on project 2. The new deadline is Friday 6. October 23:59.
NB: The proposal for project 3 is still due this Friday 29. September. Don't forget! ;-)
We hope that this extension makes up for any lost time or results caused by the downtime on Fox.
Hi all,
This is just a friendly reminder that both project 2 and the proposal for project 3 are due this Friday 29. september at 23:59!
Remark: The P3 proposal is just a 1-2 page draft outlining your chosen project and your plan of action. You can find a latex template for the proposal in the example-p3 repo (look in the `report` branch).
We look forward to reading about your P3 ideas!
Dear all,
All groups should now have received feedback and a grade for project 1. Please check your UiO emails!
Some students asked for a link to the dataset for work outside the educloud servers.
We provide a link here: carrecs.tar.gz
We still recommend you use the litdata package if possible, since it makes it easier to verify your code on the servers.
The description for project 2 is available here!
Hi all,
We want to give you a heads up that the submission details of project 1 have been updated with (hopefully) clearer instructions on how to make your group's GitHub repo ready for submission. The accompanying document environment_setup.pdf outlines how you can make sure that your code and results are reproducible.
NB: Please read the new details about the validate_project1.py file in project1.pdf. You have to write and submit this file for us to be able to load your PyTorch models. An outline of this file can be found in the ...
Hi, everyone! The deadlines for the projects are the following.
- Project 1: 8. September
- Project 2: 29. September
- Project 3 proposal: 29. September
- Project 3 poster: 21. November
- Project 3 final report: 28. November
All deadlines are at 23:59, except the poster in project 3 which is a presentation you have to do in class. All deliveries are done though your group GitHub repo.
To reduce the amount of waiting time in the lab, please sign up for an Educloud account, and apply for the project `ec232` associated with the course as soon as possible.
You can follow the instructions posted on our discourse page.
See you in the lab tomorrow!
We are thrilled to have you start this semester, and a new journey with us.
As you dive into the world of Deep Learning, we want to emphasize the vital role that both our discussion sessions and labs play in shaping your learning experience. The synergy between theoretical knowledge gained in the discussions and hands-on application in labs is of utmost importance in comprehending the nuances of the latest ideas and algorithms.
Attending classes and actively participating will not only enhance your understanding but also provide you with valuable skills that are crucial for your academic and professional growth. Our goal is to equip you with a holistic education that goes beyond theory, enabling you to confidently navigate real-world challenges.
We encourage you to make the most of this opportunity by engaging wholeheartedly in both aspects of the course.
We look forward to witness your growth and success throughout the semester.
See you tomorrow!
