The first problem set is now out. As a reminder, this is how it works:

  • ?The new problem set will always be put out (on the semester page) on Tuesday. You can then discuss, and start working on the questions, during the group exercise (= highly recommended !) on Thursday.
  • deadline for handing in your answers in canvas is the Tuesday after, 3pm.
  • When you hand in a problem set, you will also be assigned a random answer for peer review (hverandreretting), along with a detailed solution to all problems and instructions for how to assign points. I have now put out lecture notes for the first two lectures. As announced, you will always find the latest lecture notes on the semester page from now one, and I try to upload them latest by Wednesday.

All these lecture notes have been prepared by Are Raklev, but I might implement minor edits to better reflect what we actually did in the lecture.

Welcome to FYS3120 Analytical Mechanics and Electrodynamics!?

On the semester pages here, you will always find up-to-date relevant information like problem sets, lecture notes, potential changes and updates to lecture or exercise times, etc. ... so make sure to check it regularly.

The course also has a Canvas page. This is used for handing in homework problems, and as an online forum for questions that arise outside of lecture and group exercise times.

The first lecture will be on January 19. Looking forward to seeing you there !
