How to use UiO ID to get your access card

If you are a student, you can download the app via the checklist in My studies. If you are an employee participating in the pilot, you will receive information by SMS and/or email.?

To use the app, you need a valid passport or national ID card.

1. Scan your ID document
   • Use your phone¡¯s camera and point it at the ID document to read the information. Only passports and national ID cards can be scanned.
2. Read the chip
   • Hold the ID document close to your phone to read the chip.
3. Submit the photo
   • The app retrieves your photo automatically. You then send it to the Card Centre for use on your access card.

If you are a student, return to the My Studies checklist to order the access card, choose a pickup location, and receive a notification when it's is ready. If you are an employee, please go to the Card Centre to pick up your access card.
