Access card

Students and employees need an access card to enter UiO's buildings outside of regular opening hours.

How to get a card

Students on study programmes

  1. Pay the semester fee.
  2. Order your access card via the checklist in My Studies.
  3. When the access card is ready, you can pick it up at the Card Centre (Kortsenteret).
  4. Bring a valid ID.

Card not picked up at Domus Juridica January 16th, can be retreived at the Card Centre.

Employees, guests and other students

  1. Please go to the Card Centre (Kortsenteret).
  2. Attendance in person is required.
  3. Bring a valid ID.
  4. Your photo will be taken there.

The Card Centre

The Card Centre (Kortsenteret) is located in?Kristian Ottosens hus (mazemap.com)?at Campus Blindern.

  • Open all?working days 10:00–13:00.
  • Personal attendance.
  • Bring a valid ID.

This is valid ID

Only physical ID, not mobile apps:

  • Passport (Norwegian and foreign)
  • National ID card (Norwegian and European)
  • Norwegian immigrant's passport and refugee travel document
  • Drivers license from the Nordic Countries (issued from 01.01.1998)
  • Valid Norwegian bankcard with photo

Lost card or forgotten code

Lost access card

  • Immediately notify the Security Operation Centre to have the card blocked.
  • If your card also functions as a library card, you must notify the University Library.
  • Visit the Card Centre to obtain a new card.
  • Remember to bring your ID.

Forgotten PIN

  • Students, staff, or guests with a UiO account can change the PIN in Password services.
  • All others must visit the Card Centre.

Everyone must have an access card

Everyone affiliated to the University of Oslo for more than three months must have their own access card with name and photo. This applies to both students, ph.d. candidates, employees and guests.?The student's access card is valid for your entire study period at UiO.

The access card serves as identification when you are at UiO. Carry the card with you. It must be presented ?to security personell upon request.

The card is personal. It is not permitted to lend it or transfer it to others in any way.
