Norway has a lower proportion of R&D than our Nordic neighbours and countries we like to compare ourselves to, measured as a percentage of GDP. The proportion of R&D carried out and financed by industry is particularly low. The government aims to do something about this and the goal is for R&D investment in the industry to reach two per cent of GDP by 2030. A strategy to achieve the goal is underway.
