24 million NOK to UiO from the Cancer Society
Kine Pedersen and Kjetil Tasken have each received 8 million NOK from the Cancer Society for their projects in this autumn’s allocation from the Cancer Society. Campus Leader Halvor ?ygarden receives the Education Award from South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority due to significant and comprehensive work in decentralising a traditional central university education, such as the undergraduate medical education.

A Skills Centre for the Next Generation of Doctors
"Teaching a skill requires more than just being good at it yourself. Pedagogy, communication, and the ability to motivate others to learn are also crucial," says Professor Michael Bretthauer. As the new leader of the Skills Centre, he is pleased with the new premises in building 10 at Gaustad.

Researchers in life sciences at UiO can apply for incentive funds for FRIPRO applications submitted from now until the end of 2025.

UiO:Life Science will fund seven to eight interdisciplinary research projects, some of which are reserved for researchers who will have the Life Science Building as their workplace. Researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. UiO:Life Science will hold workshops for potential applicants in January and February.

Helsam: Open Doors at Psychiatric Acute Ward in Norwegian. A practice with an open exit door at the acute ward can be safely implemented without increasing the use of coercion on patients, according to a randomised study led by Associate Professor Nikolaj Kun?e.
Klinmed/ Universitetsplassen: Close-Up with Diabetes Researcher Knut Dahl-J?rgensen. Professor and Senior Consultant Knut Dahl-J?rgensen has researched viruses as a cause of diabetes for over 20 years. Despite being well past retirement age, he has no plans to stop. "It would be very exciting if we could prevent people from getting type 1 diabetes." Read the article and hear the podcast interview in Norwegian.
Helsam: Return Unused Antibiotics to the Pharmacy in Norwegian. The Antibiotic Centre for Primary Care (ASP) launches its annual campaign, which encourages the return of unused antibiotics to pharmacies. The goal is to reduce incorrect use of antibiotics and help reduce antibiotic resistance, says Sigurd H?ye.
