Who can use this attendance type?
Employees with flexible hours who record working hours in the self-service portal
What should you do?
- Record your working hours by entering the time of arrival to and departure from work.
- Attendance hours may be entered in multiple rows if a gap between work sessions has occurred during the day, e.g. due to a private errand. For handling necessary short absences see the Special Agreement on Flexible Working Hours in the Public Sector (lovdata.no) (Norwegian).
- Time recorded as Attendance affects the flexible hours account.
- Attendance hours are also to be recorded for field work, see point 5 in the field work agreement (Norwegian).
- Upon termination of employment, an employee is not entitled to have the accumulated surplus of flexible hours settled as paid hours.

Overtime w/flexitime
Who can use this attendance type?
Technical and administrative employees
What should you do?
- The entire time of attendance (arrival at and departure from work) must be recorded as Overtime w/flexitime. The system calculates the effective overtime worked given the employee's work plan (Norwegian).
- For every hour recorded as Overtime w/flexitime, one hour will be added to the flexible hours account. In addition, a 50 % or 100 % premium will be paid for compensatory time off upon approval of the immediate superior. The percentage premium depends on the time the work is conducted.
- The right to overtime occurs after a full work day equivalent to a 100 % position.
- Taking compensatory time off work must be applied for in the self-service portal's absences module.
- Upon termination of employment, an employee may opt to have accumulated flexitime surplus paid out as salary.

Employees nursing a child
What should you do?
- Working hours spent nursing are recorded here.
- Work time hours must be recorded in addition to the Breastfeeding paid leave entry.
- Start and end times for Work time entries should not overlap with the Breastfeeding paid leave entry.
- Breastfeeding paid leave must be registered within normal working hours 08.00-15.00/15.45
- Time registered as Breastfeeding paid leave affects the flexible hours account.

Who can use this attendance type?
Technical and administrative employees
What should you do?
- The entire time of attendance (arrival at and departure from work) must be recorded as Paid overtime. The system calculates the effective overtime worked given the employee's work plan (Norwegian).
- Recorded overtime is sent for approval by the immediate superior.
- The right to overtime occurs after a full work day equivalent to a 100 % position.
- A percentage premium of 50 % or 100 % is paid depending on the time the work is conducted

Who can use this attendance type?
Employees with access to the self-service portal, i.e. who receive a monthly paid salary
What should you do?
- While on official travel, work time may be recorded as Travel time.
- Time recorded as Travel time affects the flexible hours account.
- The starting and end points for the journey are calculated from the place where the journey begins / ends, i.e. place of employment or residence.
- When in transit outside normal working hours, the following compensation may be granted:
- 1 hour per travel hour for domestic travel
- 1/2 hour per travel hour for international travel
- The time compensation may be taken as compensatory time off after the travel has been completed.
