Course content
Educational audiologists often work with clients with complex presentations and needs. This course focuses on developing the students’ understanding of interdisciplinary research and evidence-based practice concerning intervention for various client groups that educational audiologists meet.??

present and discuss the evidence for interventions for diagnoses and conditions related to research and practice in educational audiology??

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:??
critically evaluate and compare scientific articles with regard to reliability and contribution to the development of research and practice in educational audiology??
identify the need for future intervention research within the field of educational audiology??
reflect on ethical and methodological challenges related to intervention research on small and vulnerable populations
Admission to the course
Requires admission to the master’s programme in?Research in Special Needs Education or the master’s programme in Special Needs Education. Other master's students at UiO can be admitted if there are available places.?This course is also open for international exchange students at master's level with a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent.
The course is compulsory for students on the specialisation Audiopedagogikk - spr?k, h?rsel og kommunikasjon.

Teaching
The course consists of:
lectures
journal club?
group meetings
seminar?
Compulsory components:
compulsory attendance to Journal club, group meetings and seminar.
group report
The compulsory component must be completed and approved before you are allowed to take the exam and are valid for three years.

Examination
Individual home exam (3 days).
Language of examination
You may write your examination paper in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.

Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail.?Read more about?the grading system.
Resit an examination
Students with an approved reason for absence or who do not pass the ordinary exam will be given the opportunity to sit a postponed exam/resit exam. The postponed exam/resit exam is usually held within three months after the ordinary exam.
