The promised (but briefly forgotten) note on partial derivation of results in previous seminars is posted.
Because of the volcanic ash from Iceland, Tapas is stuck in India. Kalle Moene will therefore lecture on corruption on wednesday April 21, see reading plan. Kremer's paper will be covered next week, April 28.
As suggested in the lecture, the cancelled seminar (thu 15/4 at 08:15) is moved to the normal lecture time and auditorium (wed 14/4 at 14:15 in aud 2 (ES)).
Due to unforeseen circumstances, next weeks thursday seminar (April 15, 8:15) is cancelled. We will do a show of hands in tomorrow's lecture on whether there will be a make-up seminar on the following tuesday (April 20, 14:15).
There will be no lectures on 10th of March, 31st of March (Easter break) and on 14th of April.
Also note that the class on 17th of March will be held in Auditorium 2 Helga Engs hus, at the regular hours (14:15 -16:00).
An updated reading plan is posted.
A couple of papers by Ghatak-Jiang and Rodrik are taken off from the list, instead a new paper by Banerjee and Newman is added. Link to the paper is posted in the syllabus section.
Seminar 3 problem set is also uploaded.
The following paper is added in the list of papers on rural credit market.

A Google group has been set up for this course, to permit interaction between students, and between students and professors. This group will also be used for any supplementary comments and corrections to seminars and lectures. You can join here. (You will need to set up a google-account if you do not have one.)
Sunniva Eidsvoll is appointed as 'student contact' for this course. You may contact her at sunniva.eidsvoll"at"gmail.com
Another typo in Seminar problems (1st Seminar):
In question 1c) The tenant is risk averse and his utility is given by u_L(x)=log(1+x)
Earlier it was mentioned that u_T(x)=log(1+x), which was not correct.
The typo is fixed and a corrected version is posted on the web.
There were a couple of typos in the first seminar problems. a) In exercise 1, the effort cost should be (1/2)e^2 (instead of e)
b) Exercise 3 is from chapter 12 of Debraj Ray's book (instead of chapter 8)
I fixed both the errors and posted a corrected version.
The first seminar problems ( link ) are posted.
Lecture slides ( link ) on the tenancy reform paper by Banerjee, Gerter and Ghatak (JPE 2002) is posted.
A tentative plan for the course is posted. It will be updated as the course advences.
