Here are solutions to the exam problems.
I am wishing all STK4040/9040-students a well deserved Christmas break and all the best for the New Year! ?rnulf
The teaching is now completed. The exam in STK4040/9040 consists of two parts:
- a project exam that will be made available 28 November and have deadline 9 December
- a written exam that takes place 13 December (see here for further information)
For the written exam the students should bring an approved caluculator and the collection of formulas for STK4040/9040. (But note that you are not allowed to write anything yourself in the collection of formulas).
Some theoretical problems are given here . It is useful to work through these problems as a part of the preparation for the written exam.
It is also useful to work through the written exam from last year (we considered problem 2 to week 43). The questions are given here and solutions to the questions are given here .
Supplementary exercise S16 for week 43 is of a similar type as the problems you will get for the project exam. If you want to, you may hand in your solution to exercise S16 to get feedback on your work. Deadline: 2 pm Wednesday October 26th.
The last 20 minutes of the second lecture on Monday October 3rd will be used to a small evaluation of the course (with the student representative in charge of the discussion).
Supplementary exercise S15 for week 41 is of a similar type as the problems you will get for the project exam. If you want to, you may hand in your solution to exercise S15 to get feedback on your work. Deadline: 2 pm Wednesday October 12th.
The exam consists of two parts:
- a written exam that takes place 13 December (see here for further information)
- a project exam that will be made available 28 November and have deadline 9 December
Nathalie St?er (email: nathalcs at math.uio.no) is elected as student representative for STK4040/9040.
The exam in STK4040/9040 will consist of a project part and a written exam. For the written exam, the students are allowed to use the collection of formulas available under Syllabus/achievement requirements .
At the lectures September 12th, the students should elect a representative. A main responsibility of the representative is to take part in the evaluation of the course (as described in this information slide from the department).
The first day of teaching is Monday August 22th. This day there will be lectures 10.15-13 in seminar room B81, 8th floor, Niels Henrik Abel's house ("the mathematics building").
