Here is the solution of today's exam .

There was sorrily a quite obvious, but basic assumption missing in the text of Exercise 1, and this may have confused some of you until this was pointed out around 15.00. During the grading process, this fact will be taken into account so that your grade will not be affected.

Some misprints on page 2 of Set 2 (old exams) to be discussed tomorrow have been corrected.

You may now check whether your mandatory assignment has been approved (you have to log in via the link you will find on the web-page for mandatory assignments). If your mandatory assignment has not received a passing grade, you can now pick it at the math office, 7 th floor, NH Abel's House; you have then the possibility to hand in a new version (at the same place) within 14.30 next Friday (November 20).

The corrected assignments for students who got a passing grade can be picked at the math office, 7 th floor, NH Abel's House, from 13.00 next Monday (November 16).

The final syllabus for the course this fall is now updated on the web-page Syllabus/achievement requirements.

In exercise 1b) in the mandatory assignement, the statement might be misunderstood. To be precise, it should have been stated :

"... if and only if f \rho belongs to L^1_(\bar R) (\mu) ..." instead of "... if and only if f \rho belongs to L^1 (\mu) ...".

In fact, in light of Cor. 10.13, it is common to identify L^1 (\mu) and L^1_(\bar R) (\mu); but this might sometimes be confusing.
