Please do exercises 11 and 12. Nils Lid Hjort will be your substitute teacher.
I remind everyone that we switch to "lectures primarily on Thursdays" and "exercises primarily on Tuesdays" to give you more time with the exercises.
The next chapters of the lecture notes will be uploaded shortly.
I have now made two bonus lectures which cover basic usage of Python and Jupyter, where I solve exercises 3d, 3e and 5e. Unfortunately, the sound quality is not quite optimal, but hopefully you can understand everything.
Tutorial I
Tutorial II
For Tuesday, please do exercises 9 and 10.
The code from exercise 3 can now be found here on the website - You probably have to right click the link and select "Save link as..." to be able to download the .ipynb file correctly.
For Thursday, please try the exercises 4 - 8, plus 9a and 9b.
See you tomorrow!
As some of you may have seen, there are two classes scheduled next Thursday:
- VB, Seminarrom 123, 10:15 - 12:00,
- VB, Auditorium 4, 14:15 - 16:00
We will do it this way to make more room for everyone. Could I please ask everyone with surnames starting with A-L to attend the first class, and surnames starting with M-? to attend the second. If you really cannot make it to your intended class, that's fine - just show up in the other class (or ideally, swap with someone else).
From September 5 and onward we will stick to Tuesdays and Thursdays, Fortunately we have now been moved to larger rooms to accommodate everyone.
I was happy to see so many students attend the lecture on Monday, and fortunately the administrator have found us a new room for next Monday's class. We will be in NHA, Undervisningrom 107, from 14:15 to 16:00, as before.
I plan to go over exercises 1 - 3 (from the lecture notes), and in particular, we will spend some time to make sure everyone has a working version of Python and Jupyter notebook on their laptops. If you already have Python installed, you should be able to install Jupyter with the command pip install jupyter notebook
Welcome to STK4021 - Applied Bayesian Analysis! I very much look forward to lecturing you this autumn.
Regarding the first week of lectures: Please note that the first two lectures will be on:
- Monday August 21 14:15 - 16:00 (NHA, Undervisningsrom 1020)
- Monday August 28 14:15 - 16:00 (NHA, Undervisningsrom 1020)
This means that the Tuesday and Thursday lectures the first week are cancelled. From August 29 and onward, lectures will be on:
- Tuesdays 14:15-16:00 (NHA, Undervisningsrom UE26)
- Thursdays 10:15 - 12:00 (VB, Seminarrom 123)
The syllabus for the course is collected in a compendium of lecture notes, the first chapters of which will be published here on the course website shortly. These will contain both theory and accompanying exercises. I e...
