Hi all,
As I mentioned during the exercise session today, I am releasing the solutions early since they are somewhat lengthy. We will discuss the solutions in the session tomorrow.

The first mandatory assignment is now published. It has to be handed in before September 23rd at 14.30. Please read and follow carefully all the instructions.
NB: Exercise 1 you can start to do this week. Exercise 2 relies on material we will go through in the lectures next week.
A recording of the lecture for today is published on the 'Recorded lectures' page in Canvas
Hi all,
My apologies about the confusion about today's exercise session. The exercise session was physical (since there would not be a lecture on Zoom afterwards), but I should have made this more clear to everyone.
Written solutions to the exercises are now posted. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or find any mistakes.

There may have been a misunderstanding regarding todays exercise class, but there is a Zoom room open now for this. It will be open until 13.30.
You can now find recordings for yesterdays (September 7th) lecture in Canvas. The recordings are in five parts. Because you might not have time to go through all of them before tomorrows lecture, tomorrows (Thursday September 9th) physical lecture will also be cancelled and replaced by a recording, that will be published tomorrow.
The physical lecture today Tuesday September 7th is cancelled. A digital recording will be posted as soon as possible.
Hi everyone,
I've just posted the written solutions to the exercises, which you can find by clicking "Solutions for weekly exercises".

The exercise class and lecture Thursday September 2nd will be digital. We use Zoom via Canvas, the same link for both exercise class and lecture.
Next week we plan for all teaching (lectures and exercise classes) being physical in VB Auditorium 2 and 4.
The lectures today Tuesday August 31st will be digital. We use Zoom via Canvas. We start at 12.20.
Due to illness the lectures will be digital via Zoom tomorrow Thursday August 26th. To join, log in to the course room in Canvas, click 'Zoom' in the course menu on the left, and click 'join'.
We will have 3 hours lectures and 2 hours exercise classes per week. The lectures will take place on Tuesdays 12.15-14.00 and Thursdays 13.15-14.00, and the exercise classes on Wednesdays 16.15-17.00 and Thursdays 12.15-13.00. The exercises classes will be taught by Per August Moen.
The first week there will be only lectures (note: Tuesday 24th 12.15-14.00 and Thursday 26th 12.15-14.00), so that the first exercise class will take place on September 1st.
We will have lectures on Tuesday 24th and Thursday 26th 12.15-14.00. There will be no teaching Wednesday 25th16.15-17.00.
A plan for the lectures will be published in the 'Lecture plan' under 'Lectures' on the semester page.
Hopefully we will have physical teaching from the beginning of the semester, but this of course will depend on the Covid situation.
The teaching will consist of 3 hours of lectures and 2 hours of exercise classes each week.
The text book will be the same as last year: Alan Agresti: Foundations of Linear and Generalized Linear Models. Wiley, 2015. ISBN: 978-1-118-73003-4. A useful (optional) supplementary is "Generalized Linear Models with examples in R" by Peter Dunn and Gordon Smyth, which can be accessed from this link if you are connected to the uio net.
This semester page will be updated with more information before the semester starts.
Looking forward to seeing you!
Ida
If the infection rate reaches a level where parts of society are forced to close down again during the autumn semester, written examination in this course may be conducted as a written home exam or as an oral examination.
