Solution to the exercises for this week (and some more from chapter 1) can be found here. I will update this after every friday exercise session with exercises from that week. ?yvind
We completed Chapter 1, and did the basic material on Gaussian elimination and the LU decomposition from Chapter 2 on August 28. Next week we will try to cover Sections 2.3 and 2.4, and most of Sections 3.1 and 3.2.

The first compulsory exercise can be found here. It builds on an exercise from chapter 2, which is also given for next week, and the deadline is 10. september. I urge everyone to use the friday exercise sessions to ask me about compulsory exercises, or other exercises you are stuck on. In the exercise session, I will let you work on our own on the exercises most of the time, but will also go through problems (which you suggest) on the blackboard. After each exercise session I will put publish the corresponding solution manuals. ?yvind
Python code for chapter 1 and 2 has now been tested, and placed on the course homepage, together with documentation. ?yvind
On the course page you can now find a file with code from the book translated to python. I have so far translated the code from the four first chapters, but have only tested the code for the first chapter (see test code at the bottom of the file), which we went through this week. I will test the remaining code next week. ?yvind
Welcome to MAT-INF4130! The first lecture is next week (19/8), where we will go through chapter 1 in the book. We will not spend much time on chapter 0 (this is repetition from previous courses. The teaching plan has been updated so that it reflects the material and exercises which will be covered each week throughout the semester. This will probably be changed during the semester. Also, four compulsory exercises will be added to the teaching plan shortly. ?yvind
