Submissions that are not in PDF format or that arrive after the deadline will NOT be accepted and automatically result in 0 (out of 16) marks.
Please recall that tomorrow (April 29) is the last lecture. There will be a question/answer session about the final report and oral exam. I will also present the tentative marking scheme. For preparation you may have a look at Part00 slides (beginning with page 27) which contain a summary description of the evaluation criteria for the final report and the oral exam.
Beware that submission of the final report is due on May 13 no later than 19:59 by email to dietmarp@ifi.uio.no in PDF format.
Oral exam is on May 27.
The oral exam will take place on Thursday, May 27, 2010. It will be located at IfI in seminar room 2G.
Your draft reports will be returned with individual feedback at the end of the lecture on Tuesday, 20 Oct 2010. I will give general feedback on your reports in the lecture on Thursday, 22 Oct 2010, where you are also encouraged to ask questions (of general interest) in-class. If you have specific questions on your report (which are not of general interest) you can ask me after the end of the lecture on Thursday individually.
I have now uploaded all handouts of the remaining paerts of the lecture (directory: undervisningsmateriale/handouts ). You can also find the reading materials in directory undervisningsmateriale/reading-materials. Please note that I do NOT expect you to read all reading materials. They are only meant to give you background information or provide further details to topics touched during lecture time.
Please recall that the first lecture after Easter Holiday will be on Tuedasy, 13.04.2010 (Seminarrom 3B, Informatikkbygningen).
Please also remember that the mandatory draft of the project report is due on Thursday, 15.04.2010, at the latest by 11:30 am (please submit by e-mail to dietmarp@ifi.uio.no / only PDF format will be accepted).
I wish all of you a happy holiday week.
Please remember that the lecture tomorrow (Tuesday) will take place at Ifi in seminar room 3B.
In direcory undervisningsmateriale/presentation you find a template for your presentations next week Thursday (Feb 11). You do not have to use this template but your presentation should give about the same information as the template. In the template, the text in brackets "<...>" indicates what kind of information is expected. Please remember that it is mandatory for each student to give one presentation. Each presentation should last 3-4 minutes.
Please take note that beginning next week (i.e., lecture on Feb 09), the Tuesday lectures (9.15 - 12.00) will take place in seminar room 3B (Informatikkbygningen). The Thursday lectures (14.15 - 17.00) continue in seminar room 508 Veglaboratoriet (Gaustadalléen 25).
The summary of the student survey (file: Survey-2010.pdf) and the writing guidelines I mentioned in the first lecture can be found in the folder undervisningsmateriale
Dear participants of INF 5180, please remember that the first lecture is mandatory!
