INF4210/3210 ORAL EXAM INSTRUCTIONS

By now all the groups should have chosen a half-hour time slot for the oral exam by using the online reservation system provided on the course website. The rooms for the exams will be allocated soon by Ifi administration.

All the members of the group will take the oral exam together.

A computer with Internet connection will be provided on the exam. It is also possible to bring your own PC if you suspect something may not work.

Each group will have ten minutes to show the project and 15 minutes for questions and answers.

Keep in mind that ten minutes is a very short time. When showing your project it is important to be efficient. First explain clearly what you have done and what you have learned:

What subject you explored and why; What ID themes you explored and learned in connection with the project; What communication design/navigation solutions you explored and chose; What web-design tools you have used and learned.

Then show us the most interesting/relevant views of your design.

The questions and answers will be focused on what you have learned from the project and through independent reading, and what you have taught others by doing the project or in other ways. Be aware that learning design involves studying written materials and more: Exploring possibilities, thinking through options, learning how to work creatively. Each person will be given a chance to speak. When preparing for the exam think about the most concise way to tell us what you have learned and what you have contributed to the class.
