INF5261 – Development of mobile information systems and services

Course content
Mobility concepts. User, use and situation of use analysis. Analysis of information and communication needs. User interfaces and usability for mobile devices. Development of context services. Technologies for mobile services. Evaluation of mobile services.
Learning outcome
After completing the course, the students will be able to analyze, design, implement and evaluate mobile services. Furthermore, the objective is to understand the theoretical background and know about common techniques, methods and technologies for developing and analyzing mobile services.

Prerequisites
Formal prerequisite knowledge
No obligatory prerequisites beyond the minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway.

10 credits overlap with INF9261
6 credits with INF-MOBI, 5 credits with INF5260 – Development of mobile information systems and services (discontinued).
Teaching
The course is project based, and the projects will have three deliverables. Rules for mandatory assignments.

Oral exam.

Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a pass/fail scale. Read more about the grading system.
Explanations and appeals
Resit an examination
Students who can document a valid reason for absence from the regular examination are offered a postponed examination at the beginning of the next semester.
Re-scheduled examinations are not offered to students who withdraw during, or did not pass the original examination.
Withdrawal from an examination
It is possible to take the exam up to 3 times. If you withdraw from the exam after the deadline or during the exam, this will be counted as an examination attempt.
Other
It is strongly recommended to attend the first lecture since it will be given important information.
