Course content
The course deals with digital images and their properties, color models and perception, representation methods for digital images, histogram transformations and 2-dimensional digital convolution and filtering, segmentation as well as image coding and compression.
Learning outcome
After taking this topic, you'll have:
- knowledge of concepts, methods and areas of application for digital image processing.
- experience with how reviewed theory can be used to solve specific problems or tasks.
- a solid background for further studies in image analysis and pattern recognition/machine learning

In addition to fulfilling the?Higher Education Entrance Qualification, applicants have to meet the following special admission requirements:
- Mathematics R1 or Mathematics (S1+S2)

Formal prerequisite knowledge
The course presupposes:?IN1000 – Introduction to Object-oriented Programming/IN1900 – Introduction to Programming with Scientific Applications/MAT-IN1105 – Programming, Modelling and Computations (discontinued) and
