Please note that a new version of the lecture plan is published (link: 'CoursePlan') ). The changes only affect the period from week 41 and onwards. Please notice also that the lectures on October 3 and 4 will be by Jon Ove Hagen, and that there is no lectures the following week (week 41). This week is lecture free to provide you with working time for your excursion- and field work reports (deadline November 1).
The lectures on Thursday 27/9 will be by Ole Humlum, and will describe how to write efficient scientific reports. During the lectures you will have the possibility of asking questions and discuss how to handle different aspects of your own excursion- and field work reports.
The lectures on Wednesday 26/9 will be given by Bernd Etzelmuller, on the theme 'The concept of cryo-conditioning in landscape evolution'
Preliminary plans for the excursion and the remaining part of the course are now awailable from links on this page. Please remember to fill out field card before the excursion and to use the e-pay facility.
There will be an introdoctory lecture to the course and the field escursion on Friday 24 August in lecture theatre AUD.2 12.15-13.00 (Geoscience Building). From Monday 27 August (morning) to Sunday 2 September (late afternoon) there will be a field escursion in southern Norway. The escursion starts and ends at the Department of Geosciences, Oslo. On this excursion there will be personal glacial geomorphological field work on one day.
Later in the semester individual written reports on the excursion and the field work must be handed in. Details of this will be announced during the introdoctory lecture Friday 24 August.
