The exam is on Friday. Note that you can bring Rottman's book and a calculator with you.
Remember our group session today at 10.15 in the "glass cage".
Corrected problems from problem sets 3 and 4 are to be handed in by the end of this week (no later than Friday 23. November).
-Lise
The next (and last) problem set includes problems 3.4-3.9 and is due on Wednesday the 28th of November (two weeks from today). We'll have a group session to review the problem set on Friday the 30th of November.
-Lise
Remember that there's no group session today, we'll be reviewing problems 2.9 and 3.1-3.3 on Tuesday next week (from 10.15-12.00) instead.
-Lise
Here's the schedule for tomorrow:
9:30---Kristina
10:00---Rebecca
10:30---Liv
11:00---Peter
11:30---Andrey
12:00---Maria
Lise will have a gruppetime in the glass room here on the 4th floor at 9 am. She will go over problems 2.6 and 2.8 (since I did 2.7 in class).
The oral exam on Thursday will cover all the material up to (but not including) barotropic instability. Tomorrow (Tuesday) I'll finish barotropic instability in the first hour. Then in the second hour, I can answer questions about any of the material up to now.
The oral mid-term will be next Thursday (18/10), before lunch. I'll set up a schedule shortly. Let me know if you have certain time conflicts, and I will plan accordingly. We'll have the exam in my office.
Next problem set is due on the 16th of October. Do problems 2.6-2.8. The midterm exam will also be next week. We can decide on a day during class tomorrow (9/10).
We're having another group sesson on monday (October 1st) to review problem 2.5. The group sesson will take place in the "glass cage" at MetOs from 16.00 - 17.00.
-Lise
Next problem set: Do the exercises up to and including 2.5. Pass them in on Tuesday. Lise will have another session on Friday, 28/9, from 10-12 in room 7.
I just loaded up a new version of the notes. I added some material in Chapter 1, to explain the Coriolis force etc. Don't worry about the extra problems in Chapter 1 (those are for next year). I've also reshuffled Chapter 2 a bit, to make the QG approximation clearer.
The first group session of the semester will take place on Friday (September 14.) from 10:15-12:00 in room 7. We'll be reviewing the problems from chapter 1.
-Lise
We'll meet today (3/9) instead of tomorrow. 10 am, in room 7.
The course starts tomorrow at 10:15 am. We'll meet in Room 7 of the CIENS building (it's below the coffee bar on the left when you come in).
