Todays presentation is a summary of all the course with an emphasis on important learning objectives and focus points before the exam.
The groups for the assembly day has been put toghether, please see Assembly Day Groups to check which day you have been assigned to. Please also read the Workshop Notes #7 for some general info about the lab day and some assembly tips.
Here is an update of course plans in the next weeks:
- Tuesday April 10th 12:15: Lecture on MEMS packaging (LILLE FY)
- Thursday April 12th: No lecture
- Tuesday April 17th: No lecture
- Thursday April 19th: Visit to Minalab - more information will follow
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday April 24th-26th: Days allocated for PCB assembly and testing. Everyone need to take part one full day (09:00-16:00). (Location ELAB)
- Thursday May 3rd 14:15: Lecture on reliability and failure modes (LILLE FY)
- Tuesday May 8th 12:15: Guest lecture on advanced packaging research: Reliability of Conductive Adehsives for IoT (Internet of Things) applications. (Location SINTEF, 澳门葡京手机版app下载sveien 1)
Coming Tuesday, the lecture will be focusing on metallization system in electronics. Lille Fysiske Auditorium at 12:15
The lecture on Tuesday Feb 27th wil be on the topic Hybrid (Ceramic) circuit boards. Lille Fysiske Auditorium at 12:15-14:00.
The initial lecture schedule indicated that there would be no lectures on Tuesday 20th. This is wrong - there will! I will talk about PCB assembly.
There will be no project workshops offered this week. If you have project work questions you are welcome to visit ELAB and ask for support.
The lab workshops will be held Tuesdays at 1015 and Thursdays at 1415 in room FV204, starting from next week (feb 6th). You only need to show up at one of the two workshops each week, just pick the one that suits you best.
As always, the lab is open for work all week, if you need help just give us a call. I have also updated the amplifier schematics to include a different power regulator.
All lectures have now been moved (again), so from now we will meet in Lille Fysiske Auditorium. The change has been updated in the lecture schedule on the semester page.
This change also includes the Cadstar schematics lecture on Thursday Jan 25th. This lecture will start at 14:15.
Three lab project proposals have been uploaded to the semester page. They can be found here: Lab project folder
You may one of these, or you may find your own project (in which case you can consider using elements of the proposals given here, for example the radio or microcontroller module.
The lecture presentations are published in a separate "Lecture presentations" folder on the course semester page. The first week's presentations (course intro + lab intro) have now been made available.
The FYS4260 Tuesdays and Thursdays lectures have been moved to room ?394 for the coming weeks (until some time in March).
There is however one exception: The schematics design lecture on Thursday Jan 25th will remain in ?257 as initially scheduled.
The start-up lecture will be moved to ?394 (from ?257) since this is a larger room. Please spread the word.
There will also be a notice posted outside ?257 about the change.
The course will start with the first two lecture hours Tuesday Jan 16th at 12:15-14:00 in FY Seminarrom ?257.
The first hour lecture will give an introduction to the course topic and objectives. The second hour lecture will introduce the mandatory lab project, where you get to design and produce your own printed circuit board. A preliminary course schedule will also be presented. Predominantly, lectures will be given Tuesday 12:15-14:00 whereas Thursdays will be devoted to lab project activities.
Thursday Jan 18th at 14:15 in FY Seminarrom ?257, ELAB will give more details on lab project alternatives.
Best wishes, Frode Strisland, course responsible
