Courses and documents for exchange students

At the University of Oslo the faculties are in charge of the courses and exams. Exchange students may take courses across faculties and departments, depending on their academic background.

Courses selection process and registration

UiO offers a wide range of courses in English, and a variety of Norwegian Language courses for exchange students. See the list of courses offered in English to find course codes, course content, prerequisites, etc.

Nominated students must list the courses they wish to take in the application for exchange. The list is a preliminary indication and not the actual course registration for the exchange. See how to apply for exchange

Students who are admitted for exchange register for courses in Studentweb which opens 3 June for the autumn semester 2025.

The list of courses is updated with details about timetables and exam dates about one week before the course registration opens. Exchange students who register for courses online before arrival in Oslo may have a better chance of being admitted to the courses they wish to take. Read more about how to register in Studentweb.

Students who have questions about which courses to take must contact the faculty to which they are nominated:

Learning Agreements for Erasmus+

At the University of Oslo all Learning Agreements (LA/OLA) are signed by the faculties.

Erasmus+ students must register the correct contact person and faculty contact point in the LA/OLA.

Questions about the LA/OLA must be directed to the faculty.

Faculty contact points

Erasmus + confirmations / certificates

Erasmus+ students must contact their Faculty Information Centre for signatures on the Certificate / Confirmation of Arrival and the Confirmation of stay for their Erasmus+ exchange.

Transcripts of Records

It is the student's faculty which makes the Transcript of Records. The student may order the transcript in Studentweb or contact the faculty information centre about the transcript.
