We have all seen reports on social media about the suffering on the ground in Gaza. But what is it like to be a medical student when bombs are falling around you and your university is completely destroyed? Can you even make room for studies when you have to live in tents and find water and food? And what does higher education in general, and medical education in particular, mean for a society?
Come and listen to medical students from Gaza talk about the importance of higher education in conversation with our own Uswa Malik, introduced by Dean Hanne Flinstad Harbo and with concluding remarks by Vice Dean Magnus L?berg.
SAIH will tell us about the significance of higher education in times of war and conflict.
Time and place: Thursday, October 17th from 16:30 to 18:30 in Runde Auditorium, Domus Medica.

I would also like to assure you that the university is in regular contact with the authorities, the police and others about the general security situation and various threat assessments. Sometimes the university also takes measures, although this is often not announced. If special precautions are needed, information will be provided about this.

Hi,
It is slippery outside, and many people use ice cleats or studded winter boots to stay on their feet.
We have received feedback that some are using their ice cleats indoors when going to and from their offices or reading rooms. The spikes can cause damage to the floor, so we kindly request that employees and students remove and put on their ice cleats in the entrance area.
Kind regards,
The Estate Department

Our world is facing multiple and interconnected crises which have had severe economic, social and environmental impacts around the world. Old, traditional challenges have not disappeared and new risks are rising. To tackle the polycrisis and to achieve sustainable and resilient development, we need to reduce the inequalities and vulnerabilities that risk leaving individuals, communities and whole countries behind. To those of you who are second or fifth year students - now you can have your say.
All second- and fifth-year students should now have received a personal link to answer the Study Barometer.
The answers are used to make UiO even better. Input from our students is crucial for the work with study quality and the learning environment at UiO. The study barometer is both about academic results, social relations, digital infrastructure and a comprehensive learning environment.
The results for each study program are published at Studiebarometeret
