Students from universities which have an exchange agreement with University of Oslo (UiO) may spend one or two semesters at UiO as part of their studies. UiO offers a wide range of courses taught in English.

How to apply for exchange
Students coming on semester exchange must be nominated by their university, and then apply before the deadlines 1 May for the autumn semester and 15 October for the spring semester.
Courses in English
Exchange students at UiO may choose from a wide range of courses taught in English.
Questions about courses must be directed to the relevant faculty.
Language courses
Admitted exchange students may apply for Norwegian Language courses on foundation or advanced level. UiO also offers an online introduction course (MOOC).
Student housing
Exchange students may apply for housing in a student village. We recommend that you submit your application to SiO as early as possible.
Start of the semester
The spring semester 2025 starts on Monday 13 January with the orientation for new students. Most courses start the week after.
