Towards Christmas, the entire University of Oslo will transition to a new email system, Exchange Online. The transfer of employees at the Faculty of Medicine starts on 3 December. Students across UiO will get the email on 13 December and will be transferred during the holiday period.
Alongside the transition to the new system, USIT is conducting a survey about our email usage, which they can use continuously to tailor the courses they offer.
Join a clean-up course and clean up at the same time
Many of us have far too much old and unnecessary email. This costs, especially for the environment. Additionally, there is some data that should not remain in the email.
USIT has set up clean-up courses to help you organize your inbox. The courses are so far only in Norwegian. If you require a course in English, you can report your need for English courses to the IT department here.
If you allocate at least half an hour to clean up by following the advice in the clean-up guide, the University will be satisfied. It is not expected that you spend weeks sorting through years of email. If you sign up for one of the clean-up courses (on Zoom), they will go through the clean-up guide and allocate half an hour for you to clean up while they are available to assist you.
Mapping email usage
Mapping email usage as part of the transition to exchange online, the University wants to gain insight into how employees use email in their daily work. To offer relevant training courses and resources tailored to your needs, we ask you to complete this short survey about your email usage in Norwegian.
Your responses will give USIT a better understanding of everyday email use, allowing them to develop courses that support an efficient transition to the new system. The survey is anonymous.
