Every year on 10 October, mental health is brought to the fore around the world. At UiO, there will be events and activities for an entire week. This year's theme: Mental Preparedness.
Some mental health crises strike suddenly, for example, because of war and unwanted events. Others develop gradually, such as when loneliness creeps into one’s life.
We cannot prevent everything that negatively impacts mental health. However, for many, it can be beneficial to emphasise good daily habits, strengthen community ties, and promote openness about difficult issues before they become overwhelming.
In connection with World Mental Health Day, from 6th to 13th October, there will be events and stands at UiO that focus on mental preparedness:

– Addressing mental health challenges must naturally be left to professionals, but we can all contribute to a safe and supportive everyday environment – and thus hopefully also to the mental preparedness that is the focus of this year's campaign, says Rector Ragnhild Hennum.
