Privacy and Anonymity
It is safe to respond to the survey as your privacy is protected through anonymous processing of responses, and your supervisor cannot link individuals and their responses. This is because the supervisors receive presentations with results where categories such as gender, age, job category, and similar details are removed.
Such categories are only used in analyses of units, groups, and institutions as a whole, ensuring that no individuals can be identified. Therefore, all employees are considered as a group in the analysis for each unit, and the analysis is conducted using a standardized template that is the same for all units.
When you start the survey, you will be informed that the form has questions that can make it possible to identify persons and answers. The reason for this is that all employees use their Feide-account to log in to the questionnaire. This is necessary so that those who wish to withdraw their answer, or make a new answer, have an opportunity to do so.
The preparation of results begins after the link between email addresses and responses has been deleted. All responses are stored on a server without internet connection, which is only accessible to a small research group at NTNU. All members of the research group are bound by confidentiality agreements. Researchers only have access to anonymized data.
Voluntary participation
Participation in the survey is voluntary, but we encourage all employees who receive the survey to participate. Managers participate on equal terms as other employees.
Who can respond to the survey?
The survey is sent to all employees who:
- hold a permanent or temporary position
- do not have hourly or monthly based contract, through ToA
- have a minimum of 40% employment
- have had UiO as their main workplace for at least 3 months before the survey is sent out
- are employed at UiO for the entire duration of the survey period
How to respond to the survey
Monday February 12th you will receive an email with a link to a personal questionnaire, with a deadline for responses on March 3rd.
You can choose to answer the questionnaire in either Norwegian (Bokm?l) or English.
To access the survey, you must log in with Feide.
We recommend answering all the questions to ensure the best possible quality of the survey, but it is voluntary to decide which questions you want to answer.
The survey is designed to maintain the anonymity of employees. For example, this means that there are no open comment fields in the survey. If you have comments about the work environment that you feel are not covered in the survey, you can voice them in the group discussions that units conduct as part of the follow-up of the results.
If you are wondering what questions will be asked in the survey, you can find them here.
Link to the questionnaire not working in the email
- Click on "change affiliation" if a different institution than UiO appears when you are directed to the Feide log-in.
- It could be that the link has been split into two parts. Try copying the web address and pasting it into the address bar of your browser. Make sure not to include any spaces in the address.
- It could be that your email is set up to read emails as plain text. You can try changing this to HTML view. You can also try accessing the email on your phone or via webmail.
Changing or deleting your own response
If you want to change your response while answering, you can navigate back and forth in the survey.
If you want to change your response after completing the survey, or wish to have your response deleted, please contact ark-kontakt@ntnu.no within one week after the deadline. Remember to provide the email address to which you received the survey. Once this week has passed, the link between email addresses and replies is removed, and it is not possible to make changes.
Copy of your own responses
If you would like a copy of your own responses, you can either:
- access the link to the questionnaire after it has been submitted and take a screenshot of your answers
- send an email to ark-kontakt@ntnu.no and request a printout of your answers
New topics in the survey
Work environment and climate
The survey addresses several topics related to the work environment and climate, including questions about unacceptable behavior and harassment.
The answers provide an important basis for systematic efforts to prevent unacceptable behavior. Since the survey is anonymous, your responses cannot be followed up individually. However, information is provided on how to receive individual help if you wish to report any concerns.
Leadership
The purpose of the questions about leadership is to assess your overall experience with the leaders at your unit. Your unit affiliation is clearly stated on the first page of the survey
