Why map?
The aim is to uncover conditions in the work environment that can lead to employees developing or exacerbating musculoskeletal disorders. There are complex causes for such ailments, and a mapping therefore addresses both physical and organisational factors. A mapping can be used to prevent ailments, or search for causes of ailments. The ergonomic conditions should be mapped in connection with construction projects and the establishment of new workplaces.
What is included in a mapping?
An ergonomic mapping includes a preliminary meeting, an inspection, conversations with the employees, documentation and assessment of ergonomic conditions. The mapping can result in e.g. ergonomics training for employees as well as suggestions for measures and improvements.
Preparations at the unit
As an HSE measure, the manager should discuss and plan the scope and implementation with the safety representative. The leader and safety representative are welcome to participate in the mapping.
Ordering
The head of the unit makes the order, preferably as part of the faculty's annual action plan for the use of the occupational health service.
