Rector Election 2025

Ragnhild Hennum has been elected as the new rector at the University of Oslo. Hennum and her team received 53 percent of the votes and will serve a term from August 1, 2025, to 2029.

Ragnhild Hennum ran for election together with pro-rector Bj?rn Jamtveit. Accompanying them are vice-rectors Mathilde Skoie, Berit Karseth, and Jens Petter Berg.

About the election

  • Registered students, Ph.D. candidates, adjunct professors, and anyone employed in at least a 50 percent position can vote for their preferred candidates for rector and pro-rector. External doctoral candidates have the right to vote if they are employed temporarily or registered as students for the semester. The determining factor for your eligibility to vote is your employment status on the day you cast your vote. Read more about elections at UiO

  • The election took place electronically.

  • The election was a so-called preferential election. Eligible voters must rank the teams and can vote for as many teams as they like. Read more about the election regulations (in Norwegian)
