Quantum Technology and Artificial Intelligence with Morten Hjorth-Jensen

Nearly 100 people gathered at the Science Library to hear theoretical physicist Morten Hjorth-Jensen share his ideas on the intersection of quantum technology and artificial intelligence. The event set a new attendance record for the dScience Lunch Seminar series. A video recording of the seminar is now available.

The seminar was moderated by Arne Bang Huseby from dScience.

Quantum Technology and Artificial Intelligence

Morten Hjorth-Jensen described how artificial intelligence and quantum technology have the potential to revolutionise how we live and work. These technologies, he explained, offer significant advantages across science, the economy, politics, and civil society, and could fundamentally transform many aspects of modern life.

New attendance record for the dScience Lunch Seminar series.

In the seminar, he focused on the connections between AI and quantum technologies, outlining current developments, possible applications, and some of the key challenges.

About the Speaker

Morten Hjorth-Jensen is a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Oslo, working at the intersection of quantum mechanical many-body theory, computational physics, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. His research focuses on developing new methods and models to understand complex quantum systems and how AI and quantum computing can be applied in the physical sciences.
