Join the dScience lunch seminar, featuring Sondre Wold, as he explores the intriguing challenges of compositional generalisation in language models. Despite their remarkable capabilities, large language models often falter on simple tasks, exposing limitations in their ability to understand and combine basic elements into complex structures. Sondre will delve into his research and recent international work, shedding light on where these models fall short and discussing potential strategies for improvement.
Master the essentials of version control with a hands-on introduction to git and GitHub. This workshop covers the basics, guiding you through practical demos, collaborative projects, and advanced features, ensuring you can manage code versions efficiently. Ideal for researchers, PhD students, and postdocs with some programming experience.
The workshop takes place over two days: Monday, 11th November, 09:00-12:00, and Thursday, 14th November, 13:00-16:00.

What is Computational Science and Data Science?
Computational science is about the development of methods and algorithms to solve and understand complex phenomena and problems. Data science is about the development of methods, algorithms and systems to organize, refine and extract knowledge from data. dScience merges computational science and data science.
