European Neuroscience Conference in Oslo - FENS Regional Meeting 2025

For the first time ever, the prestigious FENS Regional Meeting (FRM 2025) will be held in Norway. The Norwegian Neuroscience Society, in collaboration with the Nordic neuroscience societies, invites you to a major Nordic-European neuroscience conference in Oslo from 16–19 June 2025.

Registration is open

This is one of Europe’s largest neuroscience conferences, and it marks the first time such an event is being hosted in Norway. The University of Oslo will serve as the host institution, with the Nordic neuroscience societies as co-organisers.

World-leading researchers coming to Oslo

Interest in the conference is high, and we expect up to 800 researchers from across the Nordic countries and Europe to attend. This year, we are delighted to welcome some of the world’s leading neuroscientists, who will give keynote lectures and engage with participants.

Highlights include:

  • Edvard I. Moser, Norwegian Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, will deliver the opening lecture on Monday, 16 June.
  • Nancy Kanwisher, last year’s Kavli Prize winner, will present on Tuesday, 17 June.
  • Terrence Sejnowski, recipient of The Brain Prize 2024, will speak on Wednesday, 18 June.

A broad range of topics

The programme will feature symposia, poster presentations, and special events for early-career researchers. Topics will range from fundamental neuroscience to clinical applications, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnostics and treatment.

A key focus this year is NeuroAI, a rapidly growing field at the intersection of neuroscience and artificial intelligence. The goal of NeuroAI is to understand how the brain and biological neural networks process information, enabling the identification of the fundamental components of human intelligence. These insights could drive the development of more energy-efficient and flexible AI, with the potential to match—or even surpass—human intelligence.

Date: 16–19 June 2025
