Aditya Gupta: A Conventional Neural Network-based Technique for Maturity Detection in Aquatic Salmon
Aditya completed his master in Signal processing in 2014, at College of Engineering Pune, India. He completed his Ph.D. in 2019 under supervision of Prof. Kishore. D. Kulat at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Maharashtra, in India. Currently, Aditya is working as a PostDoc Research Fellow at the Center for Artificial Intelligence, University of Agder, Norway. His project is developing automated artificial intelligence-based tools to monitor, analyze and provide decision support for the health and welfare of farmed fish. The area of his research is Artificial Intelligence for Aquaculture, Bio-Medical Signal Processing, Medical Image Processing, and Water Resource Management for smart cities
Aida Ashrafi: AI Application in Sustainable Fisheries
Aida completed her Bachelor degree in Information Technology Engineering in 2015. Later on in 2018, she received her Masters degree in Artificial Intelligence from KU Leuven, Belgium. She worked as a research assistant for around 2 years at the same university, working mostly on theory of machine learning. In 2021, she started her PhD at the University of Bergen, Norway. In her PhD, she analyses data about fishing vessels, the catch and the sales and develops different machine learning models to help in automation of the decision making process in fisheries and to avoid overfishing. The project is called "Use of AI for Sustainable Fisheries" which is a work in collaboration with the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries. Her scientific interests are machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, data science and optimization.
