The Laura Bassi Scholarship, which awards a total of $8,000 thrice per annum, was established in 2018 with the aim of providing editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study, broadly construed. The scholarships are open to every discipline and the next round of funding will be awarded in Summer 2024:

All currently enrolled master’s and doctoral candidates are eligible to apply, as are academics in the first five years of full-time employment. Applicants are required to submit a completed application form along with their CV through the application portal by the relevant deadline. Congratulations to everyone who has submitted their master's thesis and is graduating this semester. It was very nice to see that the faculty's candidate clebration was successful on Tuesday 11 June. IMK is still looking for one teaching assistant
The Department of Media and Communication has one vacant part-time positions on an hourly basis as a teaching assistant for the autumn 2024 and spring 2025 semesters. The work will involve assisting with teaching assignments and follow-up of students on the course MEVIT4010 – Master’s thesis seminar for media studies (MA).
You need to be proficient in Norwegian to be able to apply for this position.
The application deadline is postponed to 28. June

Do not despair. Studentweb will open again on 18 June for applications to courses with capacity and you will receive an answer after 15 August. During this time, you will also find out which courses at OsloMet that will be possible for IMK's students to apply for. Bli med p? sommerfest for IMK-studenter fredag 14 juni p? Chateau Neuf
Vi feirer at vi kom oss gjennom nok et skole?r og at sommeren er her! Noen av oss er ferdige, andre fortsetter. Men alle oss UIOs IMK-studenter (bachelor, ?rsenheten og masterprogrammene er invitert) samles til en liten fest sammen p? Chateau Neuf. Det blir litt mat, alkoholfri drikke (alkohol kan kj?pes i baren for studentpriser), musikk og kanskje litt morsom aktivitet. Start klokken 18.

We celebrate that we made it through another school year and that summer is here! Some of us have finished, others are continuing. But all of us UIO's IMK students (bachelor, year unit and master's programs are invited) gather for a small party together at Chateau Neuf. There will be some food, non-alcoholic drinks (alcohol can be bought at the bar for student prices), music and maybe some fun activities. Start at 6 p.m.

Ek har et s?regent dansespr?k, i tillegg bryter han med vante forestillinger om kj?nn. Tidligere ballettsjef i Pariseroperaen, Brigitte Lefèvre, har beskrevet det slik:
?Mats Ek skildrer mannen og kvinnen som én pluss én. Han har en visjon av mannen, kvinnen, likestillingen. Kj?nnene kompletterer hverandre, kvinnen kan b?re mannen i Eks verk. De lever ansikt mot ansikt. De elsker hverandre, konfronterer hverandre, skilles. Livet er ikke en mekanisk rekke av motgang og framgang, men alt derimellom.?
Begge av kveldens verk, Hun var svart (1995) og En slags ... (1997), danses til musikk av den polske komponisten Henryk Górecki (1933–2010), som gjennom sitt virke sies ? ha bearbeidet traumet etter andre verdenskrig. Da Górecki d?de, ble det skrevet at ?hans verker er som en kampestein som ligger i v?r vei og tvinger oss til ? anstrenge oss spirituelt og f?lelsesmessig.? Musikken spilles av Operaorkestret.

Ek has a distinctive dance language, and he also breaks with familiar notions of gender. Former ballet director of the Paris Opera, Brigitte Lefèvre, has described it as follows:
“Mats Ek portrays the man and the woman as one plus one. He has a vision of man, woman, equality. The sexes complement each other, the woman can carry the man in Ek's work. They live face to face. They love each other, confront each other, separate. Life is not a mechanical series of adversity and progress, but everything in between."
Both of the evening's works, Hun var svart (1995) and En slavg ... (1997), are danced to music by the Polish composer Henryk Górecki (1933-2010), who through his work is said to have processed the trauma of the Second World War.When Górecki died, it was written that "his works are like a boulder that lies in our path and forces us to exert ourselves spiritually and emotionally."The music is played by the Opera Orchestra.
