5 days of practice is analysis practice and will be carried out in week 34. The remaining 10 days will be carried out in a school, and you will plan the content and schedule of this practice with your supervisor.
In the analysis practice week you will work systematically with a practice case. Through various data sources such as classroom videos, interviews and surveys, you will gradually gain insight into the teaching of a specific class, and get the opportunity to rehearse, notice and reflect on different aspects of a teaching sequence. More information about the schedule of this analysis practice will be posted closer to the beginning of term.
The remaining 10 days of practice will be carried out in a school. Together with your supervisor at the school you will develop a practice plan consisting of content components. In this plan you also include the dates for when the execution of the various components are scheduled, so that the plan is predictable for both student and supervisor. One practice day does not necessarily last a whole day, but you must be present at the practice school before/during/after the planned components. Pre- and post-practice work related to the content components (e.g., planning, assessing, reviewing, etc.) may also count as practice.
When the 10 days of practice are completed, you and your supervisor will both sign the practice plan, confirming that practice is executed according to plan. You will then upload the practice plan in Canvas no later than 16th November 2018.
