Workshop & lectures week 11
The Good Economy lectures will continue next week with one lecture on Tuesday and a student workshop on the food industry and the making of the modern chicken.
Lecture:
To come prepared for the lecture on Tuesday 10th, please read Nicolas Rose (2001), Michel Foucault (2004) and Allan & Lavau (2014).
Workshop:
I have uploaded the workshop program for Thursday 12th on Fronter in a folder named "Workshop 12th March". The class will be divided in three groups with different assignments linked to the topic of chicken farming industry particularly and relationship between industry, politics and science in the making of foods in general.
The groups are asked to make a presentation and analysis that is based on selected literature from the syllabus as well as some additional literature. The groups will be given questions and empirical material to base the analysis on. The composition of the groups will be made on Tuesday and the students are expected to use time between the lecture on Tuesday and Thursday to read and prepare the workshop presentation.
Surprisingly few of you have notified me about your attendance to the film viewing on Tuesday. I highly recommend you all to come and watch the film as it will point to central topics of the workshop and lectures, and is a very good point of departure for discussions.
