ECON9715 – Topics in Labour Economics
Course content
The goal of this course is to develop a knowledge of demand and supply in the labor market, with application to topics such as immigration, minimum wages, inequality, and tax policy. The course considers both static and dynamic models as well as perfect and imperfect competition. The course focuses on how to take such models to the data to answer well posed economic questions. The course is intended for Ph.D. students and young researchers with good training in microeconometrics.?

Admission to the course
This course is offered to PhD candidates at the Department of Economics. Other candidates admitted to a PhD program may apply to take the course.
Teaching
There will be lectures each day, Monday to Friday, that you are expected to attend.?
Course material will be uploaded at the beginning of the course. Do not share any course material without permission.
Examination
You will be assessed based on a take-home final project, and will include both analytical problems and empirical problems that will require the use of statistical software (preferably R or STATA).?
Language of examination
The examination text is given in English, and you submit your response in English.
