Hi,
There was a typo in problem 3 part (i), which is fixed now. The probability indicator p_{i} was missing from the summation expression.

Hi all,
Seminar 6 is now posted. It is important that you come prepared.
Florian and Torben
Hi,
The coming Wednesday, I will review the economics of fisheries and discuss economics of forestry. Along the way, I hope to provide a unified interpretation of the rule for optimal extraction of resources (both non-renewable such as oil and renewable such as fisheries and forestry) on the basis of modern Capital Theory. Attending seminar-5 is strongly recommended, especially for those who have not attended the lecture on 25th. Please try the seminar problems before hand.
Torben
Seminar 4 has been moved by one week to Oct 23, same time (14:15-16:00), same place (room 1220), same fantastic teacher (Torben). The problem set is on the web. Best, Florian
I have added a lecture note to the webpage (LN 7). Florian
There was a type on the last exercise of seminar 2. Please use the newly uploaded version.
Hi,
Here is the link to the last question of seminar 1, which we were unable to finish in class. See you in two weeks!
Torben
The lecture notes for the first lecture are on the course homepage.
Note that the 6th lecture will be on Wednesday the 25th of September (not on a Friday like the other lectures).
The syllabus and the reading list are now updated and corrected. Florian
The reference Farzin (1996) for the first lecture is wrong. You should instead read Farzin, Y. H. (1992). The time path of scarcity rent in the theory of exhaustible resources. The Economic Journal, 102(413), 813-830.
