Seminar 6 is out. I have tried to mimic the structure of the exam. To "big" questions and one with short questions. The seminar is due already next Monday so I am a bit late. I will try to postpone to Monday the 16th of May. I will confirm tomorrow if the room is available the 16th.
For the lecture this week my plan is to summarize, repeat, the material that I have covered in my lectures. If there is anything in particular that you want me to repeat, please tell me.
Question 2 in the second seminar is taken from E. Saez course at Berkeley. I have posted his answers in the seminar box. Someone told it was not perfect match between my rewriting of the questions and his ansers. It is pretty close. Perfect match until 3-g. In g you are asked to find the bracket 2 taxrate that maximizes tax revenue. In h you are asked to find the tax revenue maximizing tax rate for bracket 1 AND you are asked to explain why this is higher than the 2. bracket. There is no question j in my version of the problem
There is a lecture on Thursday the 10th, even though there is "aktivitetsuke" (which I did not know of when I fixed the plan). But I can lecture in one go, so we will finish for the breakfast.
1 The lecture notes for lecture 5/6 are updated with additional stuff, and some corrections are made. I have also a note on the workfare model by Besley and Coate.
2 I am lagging behind. And to have sufficient time to talk about non-linear income taxation and redistribution and the public provision of goods (public and private) I will skip the lecture on taxation and external effects. This means that you do not have to read the chapters in Sandmo 2000, it is not on your syllabus.
