There has been a question about what you may bring with you for the exam. The answer is: No written or electronic resources, no calculator.
Seminar group 2 will meet for the sixth (i.e., the last) time at an irregular time, as discussed in the group. The seminar will be on Wednesday 4 May at 16:15-18:00 hrs., in seminar room 101 in the Harriet Holter building, instead of Friday 6 May.
The last lecture is Monday 2 May at 08:15 hrs. DL will not be in his office on Monday 16 May.
All extra exercises for self-study for this semester are now available, nine in total. You find them in Fronter, ECON4510 - Fellesrom 2011-v?r > Tutorial.
Only 15 students answered the evaluation questions (in Fronter) before the deadline last week. The evaluation is reopened, and those who have not answered already, are asked please to do so before Monday 28 March at 14:00 hrs.
Please take part in the student evaluation of the course, which is available in Fronter until 14:00 hrs. on Friday, 18 March.
There is an exercise in the final page of the lecture notes for 28 February. If we have time, we will solve this during the lecture. If not, the answer will appear in Fronter. (Those who have the time, should try to solve this before the lecture, but priorities are: (1) Seminar exercises, (2) Extra exercises for self-study (in Fronter), (3) Exercises in the lecture notes.)
Extra exercises for self-study are available in Fronter. The files contain suggested answers (but try yourself first!), and are found in the "Fellesrom" > Tutorial. Since there is no lecture 21 February, the third set of extra exercises is large, so you will have some work to do.
The exercises for the seminars are now available on the open web page. You will be asked to sign up on the lecture 7 February. (If you forgot: You can find out in Fronter which of the two groups you belong to.) The lists for this are also available, for your information only. The exercises for each seminar meeting are divided into two assignments in order to make the tasks easier. All participants are expected to contribute, although this is not a formal requirement. You may sign up alone or in groups of two or three - groups may be asked to sign up more than once.
In the seminars you will be expected to prepare a suggested solution at least once during the semester, alone or in a small group. We want an electronic document, which is not scanned from a handwritten document. There are many types of software to help you. The student PCs in the Faculty of Social Sciences have Microsoft Word, which can be used both for typing math and for creating diagrams. There are two notes on the course web pages to explain this and Fronter. In the lecture today, I (DL) offered to give an extra lecture (45 mins.) to go through this, but so far no one has said that he/she needs it. Please let me know this week if you need it.
Welcome to the course ECON4510! A plan for the lectures is now available, as well as notes for the first lecture. It is a good idea to bring printouts of lecture notes to each lecture (including, possibly, pages at the end which were not covered in the previous lecture).
