Next wednesday (Nov 19) there is an extra meeting in Auditorium 3 from 10h to 12h. We will discuss questions about the course material that you can email to Edwin Leuven.
Some of you are having problems accessing the data set, for unknown reasons. To make sure you can all find it, I uploaded the data set to the Data sets-folder under Seminars.
The link in the posted exercise was wrong (now corrected). The link should read [COURSE URL]/data/..., not [COURSE URL]/docs/... My apologies.
Suggested dofiles for the exercises given in class are here:
Note that you will need to set the correct file path where you have downloaded the data. Note also that there are always many alternative ways of doing things in Stata, so don't get too tied up in exactly how I do it.
A solution proposal for seminar 2 can be found here.
A solution proposal for seminar 1 can be found here.
...and will be rescheduled.
You will be notified about the new time and location.
The cps-data set turns out to be too big for matrices in Stata. I created a new data set with a sample of the previous data that you can find here. This should work. Note that you could use -set matsize-, but that is not sufficient with the original data set. In this case, one would have to use mata.
