There is a small error in the first equation on page 11 in "Lecture notes to chapter 8": XX' should be X'X in the middle of the last expression. Now corrected.
Note: Since the description of how to find the maximum likelihood estimates in the gamma distribution (precipitation data) using Excel, went somewhat fast in the lectures, I have included a more detailed description under the lecture notes.
