This course will include following topics:

Learning outcome
The two main purposes of this course are to teach the students different measures of estimating quality adjusted life years and to train the students to estimate QALYs by using different statistical methods.
Admission
Students who are admitted to study programmes or individual courses at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for by registering a study plan in StudentWeb
Prerequisites
Recommended previous knowledge
Some basic knowledge about health economic evaluation is preferable, but not necessary. Basic knowledge in using SPSS.

5 credits overlap with HME4307 – Measuring QALYs: A theoretical and practical approach (discontinued)

Examination
Home exam. After two days with lecturing and lab, there will be given an exam to be written at home and presented in June.

Grades are awarded on a pass/fail scale. Read more about the grading system.
Explanations and appeals
Withdrawal from an examination
It is possible to take the exam up to 3 times. If you withdraw from the exam after the deadline or during the exam, this will be counted as an examination attempt.
Evaluation
The course is subject to continuous evaluation. At regular intervals we also ask students to participate in a more comprehensive evaluation.
