The course starts at Tuesday …

The course starts at Tuesday 23. August with one hour lecture, and continues with two hours lectures on Fridays (teacher Magne Aldrin) and one hour exercises on Tuesday (teacher Ida Scheel).

The course will be based on the book

Bootstrap Methods and Their Application by A. C. Davison and D. V. Hinkley, Cambridge University Press 1997. It is available at the Akademika bookstore. See http://statwww.epfl.ch/davison/BMA/ for a quick overview.

The plan is to cover material from

chapter 2: the basic bootstrap, main part chapter 3: further ideas, selected topics chapter 4: tests, main part chapter 5: confidence intervals, main part chapter 6: linear regression, main part
